1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to your use of A11yAllies, provided by Ultra Content Services LLP ("UCS", "we", "us", or "our").
By accessing, installing, or using A11yAllies, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use A11yAllies.
2. About A11yAllies
A11yAllies is an accessibility audit and evidence platform designed to help users identify, review, document, and manage accessibility findings for digital content, including websites and EPUB publications.
Depending on the features available to your plan and version, A11yAllies may provide functionality such as:
- website accessibility auditing;
- EPUB accessibility auditing;
- automated accessibility checks;
- manual accessibility review;
- Guided Testing for structured human-led accessibility review;
- local evidence capture;
- project and finding management;
- accessibility reporting and export; and
- tools that assist accessibility remediation and validation.
Features may vary by product version, plan, platform, browser, publication format, and technical environment.
3. Accessibility results and professional judgement
A11yAllies is intended to assist accessibility evaluation. Automated testing alone cannot identify every accessibility issue.
Some accessibility requirements require human review, contextual evaluation, assistive-technology testing, or professional judgement. A11yAllies may therefore distinguish automated findings from manual or Guided Testing observations and reviewer judgements.
4. Guided Testing
Guided Testing provides structured workflows to help a human reviewer examine accessibility requirements that may require evaluation beyond automated scanning.
Guided Testing may collect objective facts and evidence, observe certain interactions, and provide information to assist a reviewer. The reviewer remains responsible for making the final judgement where human evaluation is required.
A11yAllies does not automatically convert the existence or absence of evidence into a conformance determination unless the applicable test is designed to support such a determination.
Assistive-technology and screen-reader runtime testing are not part of the current Guided Testing release. Information derived from document structure, HTML, ARIA, or accessibility APIs should not be interpreted as proof of what a particular screen reader announced to a user.
5. Accessibility standards and legal requirements
A11yAllies may assist users in evaluating content against supported accessibility requirements and standards.
Accessibility standards, regulatory requirements, interpretations, and enforcement practices may change over time and may vary by jurisdiction and context.
A11yAllies is not a substitute for legal advice. You are responsible for determining which standards, laws, regulations, contractual requirements, or organizational policies apply to your digital content.
6. Local processing and storage
A11yAllies is designed so that core audit activities and evidence handling can occur locally in the user's browser or device.
Depending on the feature being used:
- website content may be analyzed when the user explicitly starts an audit;
- EPUB publications selected by the user may be processed locally;
- project, page, finding, review, and evidence information may be stored locally;
- evidence screenshots may be stored locally and may contain a watermark; and
- reports may be generated locally for download or export.
A11yAllies does not currently provide cloud evidence storage or synchronization as part of the released product.

7. EPUB auditing
A11yAllies may allow you to select and audit EPUB publications. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and authorization to access and analyze any publication you select.
Results may depend on the structure of the publication and the environment in which it is evaluated. Behaviour that depends on a specific reading system or assistive technology may require additional testing outside A11yAllies.
8. Evidence and screenshots
A11yAllies may capture or store accessibility evidence, including screenshots, when evidence capture is applicable to an audit.
You are responsible for reviewing content before capturing, retaining, sharing, or exporting evidence, particularly where the audited content contains confidential, personal, licensed, or sensitive information.
Evidence should be used only for legitimate accessibility testing, remediation, quality assurance, documentation, or related purposes.
9. Reports and exports
A11yAllies may generate reports and export accessibility information in formats available under your plan.
Reports reflect the information available at the time of the audit and the automated checks, observations, evidence, and reviewer judgements recorded during that review.
Reports should not be represented as independent certification by UCS or as a guarantee of legal or accessibility compliance.
10. Plans and feature availability
A11yAllies may offer Free and Professional plans. Features, usage limits, export formats, and other capabilities may differ between plans.
Certain capabilities, including Guided Testing and some report export formats, may require a Professional plan.
We may modify plan limits, feature availability, or packaging from time to time. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
11. Acceptable use
You agree not to use A11yAllies to:
- access or test systems without appropriate authorization;
- violate applicable laws or third-party rights;
- circumvent security or access controls;
- introduce malicious code or intentionally disrupt services;
- collect or misuse personal, confidential, or sensitive information;
- misrepresent A11yAllies results as a certification or guarantee where no such certification or guarantee has been provided; or
- reverse engineer or misuse the service except where such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law.
12. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- the digital content you choose to audit;
- obtaining appropriate authorization to perform an audit;
- reviewing automated and Guided Testing results;
- making appropriate remediation and conformance decisions;
- protecting locally stored evidence and exported reports;
- maintaining appropriate backups where required; and
- complying with applicable accessibility, privacy, copyright, security, and data-protection requirements.
13. Intellectual property
A11yAllies, including its software, user interface, documentation, branding, and related materials, is owned by or licensed to Ultra Content Services LLP and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of A11yAllies or UCS intellectual property to you.
You retain ownership of content, findings, evidence, and other materials that belong to you or your organization, subject to any third-party rights applicable to that content.
14. Availability and changes
We may update A11yAllies to improve functionality, accessibility, security, compatibility, performance, or reliability.
Features may be added, modified, limited, deprecated, or removed as the product evolves.
We do not guarantee that every feature will operate without interruption or error in every browser, operating system, website, EPUB publication, reading system, or technical environment.
15. Disclaimer
A11yAllies is provided as an accessibility testing and evidence tool. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided without warranties that its results will identify every accessibility issue or establish complete compliance with any particular accessibility standard, law, or regulation.
You should use appropriate professional judgement and additional testing where necessary, including testing with assistive technologies and users with disabilities when appropriate to your accessibility evaluation.
16. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Ultra Content Services LLP will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising solely from reliance on automated or incomplete accessibility testing results.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
17. Suspension or termination
Access to A11yAllies or particular features may be suspended or terminated where necessary to address misuse, security concerns, legal requirements, or material violations of these Terms.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when A11yAllies, its commercial offering, applicable requirements, or our operating practices change.
The effective date displayed at the top of this page indicates when the current version became effective.

Your use of A11yAllies is also subject to the A11yAllies Privacy Policy .
