EPUB file validation and accessibility evaluation answer different questions. A structurally valid EPUB can still contain accessibility barriers. Requirements and achievable corrections depend on the publication, source content and agreed testing scope.
Questions before you start
Can we audit an EPUB ourselves first?
Yes. A11yAllies provides an EPUB audit workflow for an initial review. Automated findings still need human validation, and some publication requirements need separate manual checks.
Do you support reflowable and fixed-layout EPUBs?
UCS can review both formats. The remediation approach depends on the content and reading experience; fixed-layout books may need different authoring decisions from reflowable titles.
Can you check an EPUB before client delivery?
Yes. Send a sample publication and the delivery requirements so UCS can agree the testing scope, report format and turnaround before work begins.
